Free Download Films 2007! Your Thanksgiving free movie list is just two movies long, but what movies! Unlike Halloween (that I offered you a list of 100 free scary movies here), Thanksgiving requires a different twist. Neither more likely to be specific to Thanksgiving, nevertheless they relate to some themes in the holiday. Frankly, I can enjoy these free movies for Thanksgiving and any day with the year.

Big oil company propaganda using a heart! Just the free movie we'd like for Thanksgiving! This 78-minute semi-documentary from 1948 is one of the most lyrical American films ever made. In 1994, The Louisiana Story was selected for preservation within the United States National Film Registry through the Library of Congress to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It is the story of your Cajun boy and his awesome family, living for the bayous in such a way of life that individuals can barely imagine.
The boy's family rents land for the oil company, which comes in, drills, leaving everything just like it was, clean and unspoiled apart from the family features a little more money. (Yes, it had been funded by the Standard Oil Company.)
The boy spends nearly all of his time on his narrow boat (pirogue), floating across the bayous, prime snake and alligator habitat, regarding his pet raccoon. He never wears an existence preserver or shoes... doesn't also have a cell phone to call in case he gets in trouble. There is not much story, simply a celebration (such stunning monochrome photography that you could well wonder what are the big deal is approximately color) of the way of life that is no longer along with us.
All of the actors were amateurs, as well as most, this was their only film. As of April 2007, J.C. Boudreaux, who literally boy, was moving into a FEMA trailer together with his wife of fifty-five years, after Hurricane Rita destroyed their residence. (source). A grayscale silent film that ends with a woman being burned alive? Oh, yes, just what every family needs at Thanksgiving. But, I have 3 good reasons for including The Passion of Joan of Arc with this pair of free movies for Thanksgiving.
First, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was ever made. Second, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was preserved. The director Carl Theodor Dreyer (more) died thinking that the last copy have been destroyed. In a little bit of weirdness that sounds a lot more like a movie compared to the truth, a virtually complete print is discovered in 1981 in a janitor's closet of your Norwegian mental institution.
Finally, I am grateful we can watch this magnificent film, on many lists of the greatest films of all time, at no cost online at Gloria.tv, a Roman Catholic video site.
Maria Falconetti (more), who plays Joan, suffered an emotional breakdown in the making of the film, and he or she never made another film. Pauline Kael (more), a notoriously demanding film critic, declared Falconetti's performance "may are the finest performance ever documented on film."
